Sri Lanka'S Garment Export Reach 4.7 Billion Dollars In 2024

Sri Lanka's Daily Financial Times reported on January 23 that, according to the data released by Sri Lanka's industry association, Sri Lanka's clothing export will grow by 5% in 2024, reaching 4.76 billion US dollars.

In general, clothing exports to the United States, the European Union (excluding the United Kingdom) and the United Kingdom increased by 5.23% (US $1.9 billion), 0.81% (US $1.4 billion) and 7.65% (US $675 million) respectively, an increase compared with the average in 2023. In addition, exports to other countries also increased by 10.13%, reaching 778.4 million US dollars.

However, the export performance in 2024 is lower than the best year of the clothing industry, for example, the export volume in 2022 will reach 5.6 billion US dollars, in 2020 will reach 5 billion US dollars, and in 2019 will reach 5.3 billion US dollars.
